The patient was very happy with the ceramic implant and preferred to have the metal titanium implant removed and replaced with a CeraRoot 100% ceramic (zirconia) and metal-free implant.

Of course to remove the titanium implant , the dentist has to put some local anesthesia next to the implant. But, the removing of the implant is not a complex procedure.

The area where the titanium implant is located, sometimes, it is necessary to make the hole a little bit larger for the new implant to be placed.

Same day of surgery. The titanium implant is removed and on the same day the CeraRoot implant is placed.

The implant is protected for 2 months, while the bone is healing around the new implant. The patient chews on the plastic protector (Essix appliance) during the healing time.

The crown is placed on the CeraRoot 34 (second premolar). The CeraRoot 16 is the white neck that shows through the gum.
